1. What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by your browser when you visit a site. Cookies may be used to support the core functions of the site, to remember user preferences, or to analyse how the site is used.
2. Which Cookies Do We Use?
The table below lists the categories of cookies and tags used on the site together with their providers. No non-essential cookie or tag is written to your device until you grant consent via the cookie-consent banner; this is enforced through Google Consent Mode v2.
| Cookie / Tag | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare, Inc. | Essential | Distinguishing bot traffic from genuine users | 30 min |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare, Inc. | Essential | Avoiding repeated security checks after one has been passed | Session / 30 days |
| Turnstile temporary tokens | Cloudflare, Inc. | Essential | Bot verification (only when you click a contact button) | Single-use |
xbit_consent | xbitcomp | Essential | Stores your cookie consent preferences | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* | Google LLC | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — visitor identification and session continuity | 2 years |
| Google Tag Manager technical items | Google LLC | Analytics / Marketing | Dynamic loading of analytics and marketing tags you have consented to | Session |
_clck | Microsoft Corporation | Analytics | Microsoft Clarity — anonymous visitor identifier and behaviour analytics | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Corporation | Analytics | Microsoft Clarity — session tracking and heatmaps | 1 day |
MUID, SM, ANONCHK | Microsoft Corporation | Analytics | Microsoft Clarity / Bing — device identifier and synchronisation | Session – 13 months |
In addition the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and writes nothing to your device. Microsoft Clarity records anonymised sessions for behaviour analytics; all text and form inputs are transmitted masked, so the content of what you type is never passed to Microsoft.
Cookie types we do not actively use:
- Third-party advertising pixels (Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel, etc.)
- Social-media integration cookies
- Retargeting / remarketing cookies
- A/B testing tools
3. Managing Cookies
You can change your preferences at any time from the cookie-consent panel available at the bottom-right of any page. Withdrawing consent stops further loading of the relevant third-party tags; cookies already stored will expire naturally or can be deleted through your browser.
You can also manage cookies at the browser level:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services
Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
4. Legal Basis
Essential cookies are processed on the basis of KVKK art. 5(2)(f) "legitimate interest of the data controller" (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). Analytics and marketing cookies are processed on the basis of your explicit consent (KVKK art. 5(1) / GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy Directive art. 5(3)); you can manage your preferences from the cookie-consent banner.
